She turned fire into her name

At a young age, Pyra’s life was forever marked by an accident with boiling water that spilled across her chin, jaw, and shoulder. The burns healed, but the scars remained, leaving behind darkened, uneven patches that drew unwanted attention.

For someone who loves to sing and perform, the visibility of her scars has often felt like a spotlight turned cruelly against her—magnifying what she wishes others wouldn’t see.

  • Though born Edson Rey, she embraces her true identity as female and shines brightest when she is performing. On stage and among friends, she goes by the name “Pyra”— a nod to fire, both the element that once scarred her and the passion that fuels her performances.

Singing and performing are her refuge, the place where she can fully express herself. Yet offstage, her scars have been a source of insecurity, leading to moments of self-doubt and hesitation about pursuing her dreams more publicly. Pyra’s story is not only about physical scars but also about courage—to live authentically, to embrace her identity, and to keep creating despite the challenges she faces.

  • The Belo team will take a multi-layered approach to address Pyra’s scars and overall facial balance. Chemical peels and advanced laser treatments will target the hyperpigmentation and smoothen the scar tissue. To enhance her facial harmony, face liposuction will refine her contours, while rhinoplasty will restore proportion and balance to her features. Together, these treatments will not only improve her appearance but also help her shine with the confidence she deserves—both on and off the stage.

  • Pyra was chosen because her story is about transformation in every sense. She has faced the double challenge of physical scars and the courage to live openly as her true self. Yet despite these obstacles, she continues to sing, to perform, and to inspire others with her fire.

Helping Pyra reclaim her skin and her confidence is a step toward letting her artistry—not her scars—take center stage. Her journey reflects the Scar Project’s mission: to restore not just faces, but dreams.

What if your scars stopped being the loudest thing people see?

An accident left visible marks Pyra carried through the years, drawing attention she never asked for. But even with the insecurity and hesitation that followed, she found a place where confidence could still live, on stage.

There, she sings. She performs. She becomes the fullest version of herself. Now, the spotlight is shifting.

Soon, the world will see not the scars she worried about, but the fire that has always been within her.
